If you think you may not have the skills to work as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Liberty ARC’s staff training team can provide the training you need to succeed. New DSPs receive 3 1/2 weeks of classroom training; preparing them to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Training in American Red Cross First Aid/CPR, Defensive Driving and many topics provide the assistance needed to do the job. An integral part of training new DSPs includes a combination of classroom training and on-site coaching that allows for application of classroom training right from the beginning. When new employees have worked for a few months, additional courses are available to support people working with Autism, Dementia and Alzheimers Disease or Dual Diagnosis on an as needed basis.

All of our employees receive a two day Welcome & Orientation as well as additional training depending on the position they are hired for. This would then be followed up by training and coaching from your department supervisor.

Liberty ARC also promotes ongoing growth and development of our employees. We offer Leadership Development courses on a regular basis.
