Supported Employment

The Career and Employment Network (CEN) is a supported employment program offering individualized career planning, training, job placement and on-the-job coaching.  Adults with developmental and other disabilities are matched to in-community career opportunities with one of over 120 business partners based upon each individual’s personal preference and skill levels.

Inspired by Liberty's goal of icreasing community work opportunities for the people we support, the Career & mployment Network (CEN) and the Liberty Enterprises Manufacturing Department sought new business parters and creative service delivery models. This active pursuit has resulted in many new jobs and successful outcomes for the people enrolled in the vocational program. Anna Baran has had a taste of the success. She is a free-spirited individual who can find a reason to smile. Before joining Liberty programs, Anna worked with her brother and dad doing odd jobs and lawn maintenance for friends and neighbors. Working under the close eye of her dad. Anna developed good skills and an excellent work ethic. Anna was recently hired by McDonald's at the Mohawk Thruway Plaza as a part of the Cleaning and Maintenance crew. Working with the assistance of her job coach, Anns has proven herself to be a very competent and conscientious worker. She truly enjoys having a chance to intereact with so many different people and consistently exhibits enthusiasm and commitment to the job.
